In their quest to deliver the best, most future-proofed game development programme they can, Alan and the rest of the Glasgow Caledonian University team have been on a quest to determine what it means to indulge in (and teach) the art of “making games” in world where the concept and form of what a “game” really is has begun to break down into … something else.

In this talk, Alan will be going over some of the more surprising thoughts and possibilities, with a focus on what it means (and whether it matters) to try and define what “making games” is all about in the modern world, reflections on what this means for the medium as an art form, and thoughts and predictions about where it all might be headed.
